Titanium Dioxide offers broad-spectrum protection against both UVA
and UVB rays. Titanium Dioxide is approved by the FDA for use in cosmetics being
applied to the skin, eye and lip areas. Being the most common whitening
ingredient on the market, microencapsulated Titanium Dioxide is water soluble
and should be mixed with the water part of your lotion or soap formula.

Titanium Dioxide are excellent ingredients for natural sunscreens.
Natural sunscreen
contains only natural physical solid substances (zinc oxide and titanium
dioxide), which absorb UVR (ultraviolet radiation). These substances are in
microencapsulated form of an extra-fine UPS grade with a fine particle size
of less than 1 micron. The most common sunscreens contain chemical UVR
protection such as OMC (Octyl MethoxyCinnamate) and PABA (Para Amino Benzoic
Acid) with silicon oil or its derivative to create a water proof layer on
the skin. These chemicals penetrate through the skin and can cause allergy
and/or irritation (in particular, among people with sensitive skin or
babies). Titanium Dioxide is a sunscreen used for broad spectrum UV
protection and improved UV-A potential. It leaves no white film on the skin
when purchased in a extra-fine USP grade. Controlled particle size give it
excellent dispersiblility, attractive skin feel and a transparency on the
skin. In addition it is hydrophobic to give it a water resistance. This
titanium dioxide is specially made for cosmetic and pharmaceutical
applications such as make-up products and high SPF sun care products.
